Are you thinking about setting up your own business?  Through group workshops and working with a dedicated enterprise advisor we can help you to:

  • Assess if you are ready to be your own boss.
  • Assess your business idea.
  • Identify if there is a viable market for your product or service.
  • Identify training gaps and set your goals.
  • Receive advice and guidance on preparing a business plan.
  • Receive support to apply for the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance(BTWEA) and other supports through Department of Social Protection.
  • Get relevant information on other supports available for business start-ups; Enterprise Support Grants; SURE (Start-ups Refunds for Entrepreneurs); Start your own Business Relief.

Eligibility criteria will apply to supports for participants.

Programmes and schedules vary depending on demand and time of year.  Services are currently delivered online.

SECAD Partnership is working with Savour Food, a food waste reduction initiative working with food processors, restaurants and food retailers across East Cork to reduce food waste and associated costs.
Wild Work creates connections, ecologically, and between business and community; while bringing wonderful wildness back into people’s everyday lives.
SECAD Partnership works with farmers and farm families through enterprise training and capital assistance programmes to enable farmers to upskill, and to diversify activities on or off farm. Farmers possess a unique set of skills and resources which often make them well suited to enterprise development.
WREN is a training and mentoring programme for women who wish to become self-employed or who are already in the early stages of business development.  The online, interactive workshops, are delivered via Zoom and provide the essential skills to develop the Good Business Practices necessary for the development of a sustainable business. 
A ‘social enterprise’ differs from a ‘private enterprise’ in that it is established to meet a social challenge or need and generally, will reinvest profits back into expanding its socially or environmentally orientated support and services.
