Objectives

At the end of the workshop each participant will know how to optimise their website taking into account new trends and techniques.

Course Outcomes

At the end of the workshop(s) each participant will:

• Be aware of SEO myths & misconceptions and know how to ensure their website is optimised taking into account new techniques.
• Be able to communicate effectively with their web / SEO team.

Course Content:

• How search engines work – understanding of how Google ranks pages, the key factors taken into account.
• The different types of search engine listings e.g., Local listing, Features listing, FAQ section and how to achieve them.
• Common SEO myths and misconceptions – how to identify and avoid them.
• SEO in 2022: the key steps to optimising a website that works in 2022.
  • On-page SEO
  • Off-page SEO
  • Technical SEO
  • Local SEO
• Briefing a web team on SEO and red flags to watch out for.
• Tracking and monitoring – an introduction to a range of tools that will aid with the monitoring and management of SEO including Google Search Console, Google Analytics & Ubersuggest.

Pre-requisites

Participants should bring their laptop to this course to be able to participate in the practical elements. It is important that participants can navigate and move between Zoom and their web browser on the day. Help documents can be provided if required.
