In Spring 2023, SECAD Partnership invited members of the public to submit their photos on the theme of Rivers and Streams. The call was open to all, with categories for Primary School, Secondary School and Adults.
The range of photos received was a great reflection on how the public use and enjoy the amazing resources that our Rivers and Streams provide here in Cork and elsewhere whether for leisure, recreation, contemplation, exploration or appreciation.
This competition which was run by SECAD Partnership and funded by the Community Water Development Fund attracted entries from all ages from across County Cork.
The prize giving was held on Saturday, 25th November in Midleton Library who had provided the fantastic exhibition space, which allowed people to come and enjoy the display of photos. We were joined in Midleton Library by many of the talented photographers, amongst them prizewinners in the Primary School, Secondary School and Adult categories.
Mary Duggan from Midleton Library welcomed all including friends and family members and Catherine Seale from the Local Authorities Water Programme outlined the importance of our waterways in our everyday lives. The prizes were presented by Nuala O’Connell from SECAD who congratulated everyone on the quality and variety of the photos submitted.
